I've used the V1 for a while since I traded detectors with a friend of mine. At first its fun to see where its coming from, but after a while you really don't care because it doesn't matter. If it goes off you slow down. You can tell the direction from other detectors also by not even looking at the display: When the beeping gets faster you know you are getting closer to the threat, when its slows down you are leaving the threat. In any case, a threat is a threat and its just marketing to have the arrows because you don't want a ticket no matter where its coming from. : its absolutely priceless!! i would NOT say that its a marketing scheme. think about it. when your radar detector goes off, what's the first thing that you think of?? where the heck is the cop right? you start looking around front, rearview, left/right, etc. the V1 basically tells you that. yes, a threat is a threat but wouldn't you like to know where to look for that threat?? its an awesome feature to have that, sadly no other detectors carry. trust me, if you've used it, you can't go back to a blind beep...
